LEHA 2022-2023 COMMITTEES
The current committees, expectations and volunteers (to date) are noted below:
Road Committee
Expectations:
- • Monitor road conditions, periodically inspect roadways for conditions, drainage, access, brush encroachment, safety features
- • Monitor performance of road maintenance contractor
- • Communicate with road maintenance contractor
- • Communicate periodically with committee members and President
- • Assist with development of budget and/or amendments to road maintenance contract
- • Assist with bidding and evaluation of bids for roadway maintenance contract
- • Assist with negotiating costs for special (out of scope) projects
- • Report to membership at annual meeting
Land & Assets Committee
Expectations:
- • Monitor conditions of parking area, fence, outhouse, walkway to waterfront
- • Coordinate activities to maintain and improve conditions of Common Lot
- • Coordinate/arrange for pumping of outhouse holding tank
- • Monitor trash and recycling operations
- • Communicate periodically with committee members and President
- • Assist with development of budget with respect to trash/recycling/outhouse and maintenance of Common Lot facilities
- • Report to membership at annual meeting
Waterfront Committee
Expectations:
- • Monitor conditions of storage racks, picnic tables, fire pits, dock and float
- • Coordinate installation of dock and float on or about Memorial Day weekend and removal of same in the Fall, prior to the onset of cold weather
- • Coordinate activities to maintain and improve conditions of the waterfront area and facilities
- • Provide trash bin/bag and dog waste disposal bags (reimbursable expenses)
- • Periodically pick up trash and dispose of in trash barrels
- • Communicate periodically with committee members and President
- • Assist with development of budget with respect to maintaining and/or improving waterfront facilities
- • Report to membership at annual meeting
Policies & By-Laws Committee
Expectations:
- • Review and understand LEHA policies and By-Laws
- • Review Meeting minutes and history of By-Law development and amendments thereto
- • Communicate periodically with committee members, legal consultant (as needed) and President
- • Evaluate comments and questions from the membership with respect to policies and By-Laws and develop language for potential changes and/or amendments – to be submitted to President at least 2 months before annual meeting (typically held on the last Saturday of July)
- • Evaluate matters of non-compliance with policies and By-Laws
- • Report to membership at annual meeting
Signage (Ad Hoc Committee)
Expectations:
- • Review restrictions as stated in our covenants
- • Research Town, County, State and Federal laws, as they may apply and/or supersede our Association’s restrictions
- • Develop Association policy language (re: size, visibility, posting location, etc.) to clarify and address:
- • Real Estate signs
- • Property ownership and address signs, 911 numbers
- • Warning signs (Private Road/Property, Keep Out, Beware of Dog, etc.)
- • Safety signs (Slow, Frost Heaves, Blind Driveway, etc.)
- • Restrictive signs (No ATVs, Speed Limit, etc.)
- • Personal Opinion/support signs (political, religious, racial, gender, etc.)
- • Other (Trail/Snowmobile signs)
- • Report findings and recommendations to Policies & Bylaw Committee
NEW COMMITTEE - Lot Use and Improvements Committee
Members – pending
Expectations:
- • Review restrictions as stated in our covenants (White Book), By-Laws, Policies, etc.
- • Develop Association policy language to clarify and address:
- • Lot usage and restrictions (activities, nuisances – noise, pets, etc.)
- • Setbacks
- • Site clearing limitations
- • Buffer Zones (Purpose, restoration requirements for over-clearing)
- • Building requirements and limitations
- • Driveway/parking limitations
- • Other
- • Communicate with Town/State officials
- • Review Plot Plans and/or statements of intent
- • Meet with lot owners and their contractors to discuss LEHA requirements
- • Develop notices of violations for Board to send to lot owners, as necessary
- • Report findings and recommendations to Membership at Annual and/or Special Meeting(s)
